We started PERCH Presents with a simple question: why is it still so hard to find brilliant independent businesses in Bedford?

Too many great local sellers, home-based makers, small shops, and service providers are hiding in plain sight, easy to miss unless you already know where to look.

The PERCH App fixes that: a searchable, filterable App that puts Bedfords independent businesses in front of the people already looking for them.

Who's behind it

We are Sarah and Robyn.

We are both Local artists and run our own businesses.

PERCH Presents started with An idea and an instagram

We are now a registered company with one goal: to make Bedford's independent scene impossible to miss.

Why Bedford

Bedford has one of the highest concentrations of independent businesses in the country, around 57% of town-centre businesses are independent, against a national average of under 36%.

That's roughly 400 independent businesses already trading in the town centre, serving a borough of nearly 200,000 people.

The PERCH App exists to connect that scale of local business with that scale of local demand, all in one place.

(And honestly, this is where we live!)
